    Dear Senator Prentice,

Thank you SO MUCH for not only voting, but co-sponsoring the 2008 Domestic Partnership Expansion Bill.  This bill will improve the lives of all Washington families and give hope to all gay people that one day they will no longer be treated like second class citizens and will be given the rights of full equality they deserve.

-Two of your 11th district constituents.

  • Thanks for your Important and Pivotal Assistance

    Dear Senator Prentice,

Thanks for your important and pivotal assistance resulting in the generous allocation of $1.5 million in the capital budget toward the relocation of our Burien campus due to the implementation of SeaTac's new third runway!  We would not have been able to move forward in continuing our services to children and adults with serious mental and emotional illness without this money to prepare our new site.  You have been especially helpful to our project through your lead role in the Senate.

Thanks also for your kind support for mental health care statewide, your help this session in dedicating the additional funding for non-Medicaid services, in helping to stabilize Pierce and Spokane RSN s, and in attending to the needs of direct service staff by implementing paperwork reduction strategies!

Many lives wil be improved because of the care you took to make these initiatives succeed.

    Thanks!

    David M. Johnson, Ed.D.

    Margarita,

I want to tell you how much I appreciate your leadership on the Prosecutor Salary Proposal.  This change does not happen without you.  It will mean more even justice across the state.  I believe it can transform our offices.

One of my favorite memories for the 2008 Session was working with you on improving the gang bill- your care for young men caught in bad circumstances touched my heart.

You have my appreciation and respect,

    Tom McBride- Prosecuting Attorneys

    Dear Senator Prentice:

As Chair of the Board of the Environmental Science Center in Burien, I know I speak for all of our board members as well as out staff, when I say how much we appreciate your vital support for our efforts to provide a year-round learning center at Seahurst Park in Burien.  The $300,000 allocation you have helped supply is a major step forward in our efforts to raise $1,3000,000 needed for the remodel of an unused building into a facility that will serve all of the citizens of South King County.

This building will not only provide shelter during inclement weather, but also house permanent nature and science displays, plus microscopes and other means to study marine and terrestrial plants and animals during all seasons.  This building can provide a personal opportunity for our citizens, of all ages, to have a hands-on experience with the natural wonders of the woods and beaches of Seahurst Park.  This understanding can only help to raise public awareness of the need to protect what can be so easily lost.

    Sincerely,

    Darrell D. Williams

    Dear Senator Prentice,

Thank you for supporting the final 2008 budget that included $20 million for grants to expand community dental clinics and $1.25 million for expanding the loan repayment program.  These two budget items will be essential for the International Community Health Services and other community health centers across the state to contend with a looming primary care provider crisis and limited adult dental access.

    Sincerely,

    International Community Health Services

    Dear Senator Prentice:

On Behalf of the members of the King Co. Parent Coalition, we want to thank you for supporting developmental disabilities funding during the 2008 Legislative Session.  In particular thank you for the passage of several important bills:

    -the DD Land Trust bill,

    -the Disability Awareness Month bill,

-the Access Coordinator for the Courts bill.

We believe the passage of these bills and the increased funding in the final budget, some individuals and families will have increased access to important supports and services.

    Sincerely,

  • Thank you for all the work you do

    Dear Senator Prentice,

Your work this session helped fulfill a sacred obligation to gather the shards, release holy sparks, repair and unify the world.

Because of your support, human service programs were buttressed in these questionable economic times; low-income working families will, for the first time, receive a tax credit; and the Washington State Historical Society in Partnership with the Washington State Holocaust Education Resource Center will be able to preserve Washington's Holocaust history for future generations so we can all confidently say "never again."

Thank you for all the work you do for Washington and your support of issues important to the Jewish community.

  • Your Support

Your Support of Manufactured Mobile Home Owners makes our world turn more gently!

You championed our cause in the Legislature, stod with us, listened to this "people" issue, and lent your voice to our issues, for which we are grateful.

On behalf of the Legislative Action Team of AMHO, MHOA, and others we join in one voice to say with heartfelt gratitude it's nice to know we have public servants like you, who hear our cries and follow through with passion and conviction.

    Thank you Senator Prentice!

    Warmest Regards,

    Dear Senator Prentice,

I wanted to write you and thank you for helping with Senate Bill 6521.  I am a Duwamish Tribal member, 4th generation granddaughter of Chief Seattle and a Master Basket Weaver for the Duwamish Tribe.  I live in Port Orchard, not in your district, but I wanted to send a big thanks for your work on this bill. Every tribe in WA should be able to claim their family's bones when found and put them to rest!  Thanks again!

    Sincerely,

    Mary Lou Slaughter
